I would like to thank every attendee and staff member who made the event possible. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event was once again exclusively online. LINE DEVELOPER DAY
Hi, this is Momoki from Developer Success Team.
We held LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2020, LINE’s technology conference, for three days from November 25 to 27. First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated, all the guests and internal speakers, and everyone involved in the organization of the event.
LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2020 was our first online event due to the spread of COVID-19. In this article, I will look back at the trends in registration, participation, and viewing of LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2020, along with various figures, by excerpting and editing some of the content from the internal report.
I’m Miki from the Developer Success Team.
LINE DEVELOPER DAY is a technical conference for engineers where we will introduce the challenges and initiatives in the technical field of LINE’s various services. This year’s conference will be held online for three days from November 25th to 27th.
The conference will offer over 150 sessions over 3 days, divided into specialized tracks for each technology area as follows
- Day1 : AI/Data, Server Side LINE Platform, Security, Infrastructure, Corporate IT, Others
- Day2 : AI/Data, Server Side Application, Client, Frontend, Test/QA, Others
- Day3 : AI/Data, Fintech, Blockchain, Developer Product, OSS, Product Management, Team & Process, Design, Others
In order to give you a fragmented view of the conference content, we have released the movies of pre-interviews with the speakers. Since it’s difficult to introduce all the speakers, we’ve included 8 speakers from AI/Data, Server Side LINE Platform, Security, Infrastructure, Server Side Application, Client, Frontend and Developer Product. We’ve picked up a speaker from each category and asked them to give us an outline of the session they were in charge of, as well as a subjective view of what LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2020 is all about.

LINE has been hosting an annual technology conference, a.k.a. LINE Developer Day, in Tokyo since 2015, and this event has been evolving in size and quality ever since. In November 2018, LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2018 was held at Happoen Garden in Tokyo with the participation of more than 1,000 developers. As I was providing support for this conference from Korea, I attended the event and I’d like to share a few snapshots of LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2018.
Hi, I’m Miki, a technical public relations specialist at LINE Corporation.
On September 28, LINE held a technical conference, LINE DEVELOPER DAY 2017 (DevDay) at Shibuya, Tokyo. DevDay was a huge success with more than 1,000 engineers from within our company and externally in attendance. I would like to once again express my gratitude to all the participants.
This year, we gave the venue a new look and introduced many new ideas, content and events at DevDay. We covered a broad spectrum of topics and more than doubled the number of sessions from 17 last year to 39 sessions this year.
Here, I’d like to share what it was like at DevDay in photos. Hopefully, through these photos, you’ll be able to get a sense of the unique atmosphere at the conference.
Hello, this is Momoki from the LINE Developer Day preparation committee.
LINE Developer Day has always been a gathering place for sharing various technological experiences and global challenges and trends, and LINE Developer Day 2016 has just successfully come to a close.
You’ve shown us a great amount of support by registering for the event, so much so that we could only invite a few that were selected from a draw.
We regret that we could only invite about 1000 of you to the event but we thank you all for showing tremendous support all the same!
